Well, yes. Your ableism proves that.
Okay, do me a favour here and explain to me exactly why you think i’m an ableist.
I should add that questioning the word’s origin doesn’t count.
It’s not that you questioned it. It’s the way you questioned it. Seriously, are you backpedaling now and claiming that you weren’t trying to disprove it as a “real word” without even a cursory Google search…? Just because you personally have never heard it used outside the context of the internet does not invalidate it.
I wasn’t denying it was a real word, but even if i did, that doesn’t make me an ableist. I was simply asking if anyone had heard it used in a ‘real world’ context.
You did it solely to attack the disability rights groups on tumblr, like a jerk, and got your ass handed to you. Succinctly, calmly and beautifully by youneedacat, in fact.
No, just no. I asked if anyone had heard it outside of Tumblr, then youneedacat said that they had and provided me with a link.
That’s not having my ass handed to me seeing as i wasn’t proved wrong.
I asked a question and youneedacat respectfully answered it.
You were being ableist by claiming that it’s an invalid word that has no real meaning (claiming you’ve never heard it outside of tumblr, and especially the quote from you “Yet on here it’s thrown around, misused and abused within an inch of life.”).
It is misused on Tumblr quite a lot. How does stating that make me an ableist?
If somebody used the word ‘racism’ to describe prejudice against a religion and i commented that the word was misused, it doesn’t make me a racist, so why does saying that the word ‘ableism’ is often misused make me an ableist?
Stop dancing around and admit to what you were doing. What you’re doing now is just making yourself look (even more) ignorant, incompetent, and all the more like a concern troll.
You’ve yet to say anything proving that i’m an ableist.
If i’ve genuinely said something that’s ableist i want to know so please tell me instead of focusing on one innocent post. Said post isn’t ableist. Try again please.
