Have you ever heard that word off of Tumblr? I can honestly say that i never have unless someone’s referring to something which happened on Tumblr.

Yet on here it’s thrown around, misused and abused within an inch of life.

What’s up with that?

Here is a citation for that:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ableism?show=0&t=1330571792

Manning, I have a tip for you.  You seem to want to be seen as intellectual.  I have spent my entire life connected to institutions of higher learning.  I know how to look “smart.”  If you want to sound clever, be informed.  Nothing looks more ignorant than spouting off about something and being quickly shut down by people who have done their homework.

So you’re telling me there’s something wrong with asking an honest question?

I see that the word doesn’t come from Tumblr, but surely you must agree it’s used an awful lot on here.

Regarding the way you see me:

Manning out.

The question comes across as snide, like everything you post.  Your own stated belief is that the world should be accomodation-free.  Anyone who cannot do something as easily as others should accept inferior status.  If you think you asked an honest question, without barbs, you are so unable to gauge not even your verbal tone but the tone of the words you choose that it must be difficult for you to navigate the world.  If you cannot hear yourself coming across as undereducated and overconfident, it must be hard to hold a job or have friends.  By your own logic, your response should be to fix this as quickly as possible.  If you fail, accept second-class citizenship gracefully.  Your other option is to accept that people, including you, have strengths and weaknesses and learn compassion.

Bolding mine. Because iamthunder is the shiznite.

Get a dish, Manning… you just got served.

Again.

What an angry little man you are.

Nope, on all three accounts.

Quite amused, actually.

You’re boring me now.

Come back when you have something rational to say.

Hahaha, says the ableist.

Naw, I’ll let you float along in your little sea of wrong while others call you out on you. They did a good enough job of it. I was just congratulating them. I don’t really talk to “egalitarians”; they give me hives with their willful ignorance.
