Anonymous asked: I'm scared. I like my best friend. But she's a girl. Nonono. And definitely straight. And. I don't know. Some friends are trying to set me up with some guy in cross country and nonono, I don't know. I'm scared.
I take it from the “straight” comment that you also identify as a girl, or at least some form of female.
Personally, I can’t give very good “go for it!” advice. I remember the girl I had a crush on in high school that made me really realize I was queer. I never told her. It’s been 11 years. I never would. I know it would creep her out, to this day. Not to say that you’re best friend’s the same way, but I was scared too. And I will say, I don’t regret not saying anything to her.
If you don’t want to be set up with this guy, tell your friends so. If you think you’re willing to try it out, go for it. (I would, but I’m pansexual and don’t know your orientation, so there’s that.)
I understand that this is probably a really confusing era of your life for you, but I don’t have any magic words to make it all easier. I’m happy to listen to you, but it’s ultimately you who has to make decisions about your life.
